Allison Sprenkle, PTA, PWR! Certified Therapist
Hi there! My name is Allison Sprenkle. I have been a certified PTA with Madden and Gilbert Shrewsbury for nearly 5 years!
I grew up in Red Lion, Pa and had an early interest in both sports and music from an early age. Most of my energy went into school, soccer and swimming, which helped develop my love of fitness and also, a passion for the mental and emotional side of physical rehabilitation.
I went on to study as a biology and psychology major at Duquesne University for three years while working in an outpatient clinic as an aide in Pittsburgh, Pa. These were amazing and formative years for me as an individual and opened my eyes and mind to heaps of medical information due to Pittsburgh’s great medical system. I then transferred to Central Penn College, where I graduated with honors and became a certified PTA in the middle of the pandemic.
While I enjoy treating many types of conditions, a passion for me since school has been vertigo, athletic injuries and neurological conditions such as parkinson’s and MS.
I have recently acquired a certification in the PWR! Program, which focuses on functional ways to treat Parkinson’s patients. I also am trained in blood flow restriction therapy and continue to try to expand my knowledge through recent research and education.
Outside of the clinic, you can find me enjoying a multitude of hobbies such as hiking, espresso making, traveling and paying way too much attention to sports! My husband Ryan and I are huge Penn State fans, and frequently visit State College for wrestling matches or football Saturdays. I also own an online vintage furniture business and studio, where I refinish and recycle old pieces to bring them back to life! Ryan and I are about to get a lot busier though, as we are expecting our first child in June of 2025!
I can’t wait to meet you on your PT journey and get you back where you want to be!
