Manual Therapy (Hands-on Treatment)

Manual therapy is a specialized physical therapy treatment that allows our certified physical therapists to manipulate joints and soft tissue with nothing more than their hands. That’s right – no intimidating equipment or machines, just hands. This form of treatment helps in relieving pain, decreasing restriction, mobilizing joints, reducing swelling, and increasing your range of motion.

Therapeutic Exercise

Therapeutic exercise is a great way to restore function and live a pain-free life. Therapeutic exercise provides a multitude of benefits for anyone wishing to restore their strength, endurance, flexibility, or stability. In fact, physical therapy is used as a treatment for any pain, injury, or ailment someone may be facing.

Spinal Manipulation

Spinal manipulation helps relieve pressure on joints, reduce inflammation, and improve nerve function. It is a gentle, hands-on form of manual therapy that focuses on evaluating and enhancing the spine. Almost every function in your body is directly connected to the health of your spine, and spinal manipulation could effectively provide relief.

Adam Domovich, DPT

Hello everyone! My name is Adam Domovich, and I am a physical therapist at Madden & Gilbert Physical Therapy in Camp Hill. I grew up in Hummelstown, PA, where I spent most of my time playing sports, enjoying the outdoors, spending time with family and friends and traveling. Some of my favorite places to travel are Ontario, Canada, Williamsburg, Virginia, and Captiva Island, Florida.

I attended Lebanon Valley College where I played football for 4 years and continued my education, receiving my Doctorate in Physical Therapy. In my free time, I enjoy kayaking, exercising and playing with my golden retriever, Macie! She is not your typical golden retriever. When she was young, we noticed her front legs were not growing normally and had a bowed appearance. We took her to the puppy orthopedic surgeon, where they helped her legs to grow straighter. Now she’s 7 years old and loves to play fetch, have the zoomies, and run around the house like any other dog would!

Playing sports, being active and helping others have always been an interest of mine, which led me to the profession of Physical Therapy. I enjoy building relationships with my patients and getting to know them as we work as a team to reach our goals and return to pain-free lives

Elizabeth Talbot, DPT

Hello everyone, my name is Elizabeth Talbot, and I am a Physical Therapist at Madden and Gilbert Physical Therapy in Camp Hill. I grew up in Collegeville, Pennsylvania with my older brother, younger sister, and multiple cats. I attended Methacton High School where I played softball in addition to travel softball and recreational soccer for fun.

I then went on to attend Lebanon Valley College for both undergraduate and graduate school. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and my Doctorate in Physical Therapy. While in grad school, I was lucky enough to have a clinical rotation at an outpatient clinic in Florida and at a subacute rehab center in New Jersey, which allowed me to travel while gaining experience and exposure to different patient populations.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, traveling, and staying active at the gym and outdoors by going on walks, runs, and hikes. I have always had a passion for playing and watching sports, which initially led me to choose the profession of physical therapy. I am a big Philadelphia sports team fan, specifically the Phillies and the Eagles. My family has season tickets to the Phillies, and I attended my first Eagles game in 2022.

I am excited to connect and care about all of my future patients and help those get back to what they love to do!

Chris Sierotowicz, DPT

Dr. Sierotowicz is a native of the area and grew up in the suburbs of Mechanicsburg near Lewisberry. “ I have always been drawn to helping others. This, combined with my own personal experience with physical therapy provided me with the inspiration to pursue a career in this field.” Dr. Sierotowicz likes having the opportunity to diagnose people and help them return to doing the activities that they enjoy. Outside of the office he is a sports enthusiast and a HUGE Philadelphia fan. He enjoys the highs and lows of watching his favorite sports teams from Philly. (mostly lows). Chris currently lives in Lewisberry with his wife, son, and golden retriever. In his free time he enjoys going on hikes with his family and spending quality time with family and friends.

Melanie Shambaugh, DPT

My name is Melanie Shambaugh. I grew up in Shermans Dale, a small town in Perry County, with my 2 older sisters and attended West Perry High School, where I participated a number of different sports. For my undergrad, I attended East Stroudsburg University where I graduated with a B.S. in Biology in 2018. While attending ESU, I played Division 2 field hockey where my team won the NCAA Championship in 2015.

After undergrad, I took a gap year and worked for Madden & Gilbert as an aide. I then attended Chatham University in Pittsburgh where I earned my Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2021. I loved living in the city of Pittsburgh since there was so much to do! Plus, I am a big Steelers fan! After graduating, I moved back to central PA and began my career as a PT at Madden & Gilbert in Camp Hill.

I was first interested in the field of physical therapy after receiving it several times myself throughout high school and college and also witnessing my grandmother receive therapy after a stroke. I like the aspect of PT in which I can really get to know my patients, form relationships with them and help them get back their recreational hobbies no matter what they are! I enjoy the outpatient orthopedic setting because of the variety of conditions and ages that I have the opportunity to treat. I had a clinical rotation at a neuroscience institute where I was able to focus on concussion and vestibular rehabilitation which then turned into a special interest of mine to treat Neurological conditions as well.

In my free time, I enjoy working out, playing in recreational field hockey leagues and spending time with my family, especially spoiling my 3-month-old niece!

When I first came to therapy, I had very limited motion in my left ankle. It hurt to walk and use the stairs. It also interfered with my balance. Danny worked diligently to increase my range of motion in the ankle as well as giving me exercises to help my balance.
